Why Parent Practices Exists
The pattern was consistent enough that she started paying attention to it. ND families arrive with children who have complex needs. The clinical system responds with services for the child: therapy, OT, speech, behavioral support. The parent coordinates all of it. Nobody coordinates support for the parent.
This is not a small problem. The research is clear that parent wellbeing and regulation directly affect child outcomes. You cannot build a support system for a neurodivergent child that ignores the person holding it together.
“The parent is the intervention. We have known this for a long time. We just have not built anything that treats it like one.”
Parent Practices is her attempt to build that thing. Not a therapy program. Not generic parenting coaching. A structured daily practice, grounded in clinical methodology, built specifically for the experience of raising a neurodivergent child.
She has been running early versions of the program through her clinical practice for several years. Parent Practices is the formalized program that makes it available to parents outside her direct caseload.
